Becoming Saint Peter

Saint Peter Black Mystery Thriller, Book 1

The grass isn’t always greener on the other side. ..

Peter Black is considered to be a saint. He’s the CEO of a respectable investment firm and a generous philanthropist. But Peter is no saint. He’s a master manipulator, hiding behind a mask of professionalism.

Peter grew up in foster care with this twin brother, John. They inherited different traits from their abusive, alcoholic father. Peter is a sociopath, and John is an alcoholic down and out.

When Peter dies in a car crash, John snatches the opportunity to get a better life. He becomes Saint Peter.

Overcoming addiction, acting a new persona, and battling remorse, John struggles to conceal his true identity from the intuitive and enchanting Cassandra Rose. When cocaine snorting property developer, Ray Woods, wants to scam the government out of millions, John discovers that nothing is what it appears.

Is John shrewd enough to play the role of Saint Peter?

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Great characters that are well developed. A plot line that will keep you turning pages right up till the end.” Clint A, GoodReads

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “The story itself was great. A guy who had a really tough life that somehow doesn’t get easier. I found myself getting more and more sympathetic and cheering for him as he struggles through more complex troubles. I won’t tell you too much so as to spoil the story but will tell you to read this book. It has a wonderful story line and i can’t wait to read more.” Debby S, Amazon

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “No spoilers in this review – I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this short, fast paced thriller from new author Hamish Hudson. He effortlessly mixes a tight, exciting plot with humour, great characters and dialogue, and excellent twists. I really cared about our protagonist, willing him to do the right thing as fate throws him one way then the other. It’s a wild ride – give it a go – you won’t be disappointed.” Jim Firth, Amazon

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I could not put this book down. It is very fast paced. Living on Wirral I could picture the places in Liverpool and North Wales. A must read. I have now started on book two.” Jennifer Wiggins, Amazon

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “A very well written thriller that didn’t make me skip any lines. The characters are so well explained that you’ll feel like you know them already. Looking forward to the next chapter.” Larisa, Amazon

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “It provides exactly what it promises. The characters are well-drawn, the plot twists imaginative, and the pace is frantic throughout.” Father Ted, Amazon

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Nice setup for a series, solid premise, interesting character line-up – recommend it and would definitely read more of them.” Ell Dee, Amazon

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“Hamish Hudson has a real talent for portraying his characters in such a way that you can really empathize with them. John is quickly learning that his brother Peter was no saint. In fact, he was a sociopath with violent tendencies. Cassandra seems to be the only one who suspected he was not who he seemed but by not resorting to violence, John wins her over. If you are after a story that gets right to the ‘meat’, then Becoming Saint Peter is the book for you. Not only is the pace such that you will keep turning the pages, there is also enough back story to help you better understand the brothers’ personas. Happy reading.” Annemarie, Amazon

⭐⭐⭐⭐I received a free copy of this book and was tempted by the promise of a fast-paced and compactly written story. The story follows twin brothers who are similar but different in their views on life. When a car accident kills one brother, the other steps into his shoes and becomes Peter. How he navigates his brother’s life, when he has so little idea of what his brother has been doing, makes for a good story. This story is interesting with a host of disturbing and unlikeable characters. It’s easy to read and certainly doesn’t get bogged down in detail, the writing moves us along quickly. It would make a good holiday read. I personally don’t like main characters who are the antithesis of a hero and couldn’t cheer the main character on. Nevertheless, it would be interesting to see where this series goes from here.” HR Kemp

⭐⭐⭐⭐Interesting, engaging read. As a twin, although admittedly a fraternal not identical twin, found twin angle especially intriguing. Fun read.” Tammy Hugie

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “This book is unputdownable! The author really builds up the suspense and creates believable characters he ensures you have to keep reading and each twist and turn draws you in until you end up having to read the whole book in one sitting. He also creates a real sense of space so his characters are living in a real place and time and he enables to understand their motivation and psychology. A great read.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “A very enjoyable read. Going on holiday is usually when I have time to read a book, but Becoming Saint Peter was a welcome opportunity to read a shorter story that I could do so when I had a bit of free time. The story is interesting, gripping, fast-moving and kept my attention throughout; well worth a read.” Brian Gordon, Amazon
